The role
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic professional to join our team as a Credit Analyst in Cyprus.
The ideal candidate has a can-do attitude, prepared to be “hands-on” and proactive, enjoy working is a cross-cultural environment and has a desire to grow and be a part of the company’s success. The Credit Analyst will be directly reporting to the Credit Risk Manager.
Job responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of credit risk policies and procedures
- Evaluate operation models, solvency and stability of new and existing counterparties based on available information
- Prepare detailed internal credit reports and provide credit risk rating recommendations based on in-depth research and analytical work
- Communicate with traders and trading managers to promote and encourage credit awareness in dealing with customers and suppliers
- Identify and monitor outstanding debts and follow up with traders to ensure overdue payments are settled
- Analyze KYC forms completed by counterparties in terms of compliance with sanctions restrictions
- Use investigative tools, the Company’s sources, as well as web research to analyze vessel operations, beneficial ownership, and potential sanctions links to discount or identify potential sanctions concerns
- Identify compliance issues/concerns and make suggestions and/or take corrective action to implement solutions to improve associated business processes
- Assist senior risk professionals in refining risk management frameworks and strategies
- Work in close co-operation with the Finance and Legal teams
- Other ad-hoc tasks
Our future colleague
- Has 2+ years of relevant experience. Credit Risk evaluation skills are a must
- Has (above than) basic understanding of active sanction programs and accompanying trading restrictions
- Has strong attention to details
- Has an ability to multitask and manage multiple complex credit risk & compliance assessments in accordance with team’s internal and external priorities
- Has strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Has excellent research and analytical skills
- Persuasive and influential by nature; able to negotiate, present convincing arguments, and influence the decision of others to accept a specific opinion
- Is fluent in English. Other European language skills would be an advantage
