The role
We are looking for a Maritime Lawyer to join our team of shipping professionals in Cyprus.
The ideal candidate has a can-do attitude, desire to grow and be a part of the company’s success.
Job responsibilities
- Handling of maritime claims in an effective manner, including in litigations, arbitrations in different jurisdictions worldwide, making best use of the arguments and evidence available, whether in defense or prosecution of a claim, and settling on the best reasonable over-all terms for the Company;
- Maintaining effective communication with all relevant parties during the claims investigations and negotiations;
- Loss prevention activities based on incident claims analysis.
- Engaging with claimants, insurers, and other parties to negotiate fair settlementsProcessing all claims according to the terms outlined in the relevant management agreements and the existing insurance policiesProviding support with KYC and compliance
- Other ad hoc tasks
Our future colleague
- Has 3+ years of Maritime Law practicing experience
- Holds a university degree in Law
- Knows English Law
- Is fluent in Russian and English
- Has leadership potential with a clear, decisive approach
- Has strong organizational and systematic thinking
- Is precise and attentive to detail in task execution
- Can work independently, but still enjoys working in a team, and can manage multiple tasks in the fast-paced environment
- Has excellent communication skills and is a quick learner
- Open to challenge, has a friendly and positive attitude
